The Grand Opening of the Salon de Bain!

This week has gone by fast and there's sooooooo much we could write about, but we'll just have to keep it to a minimal amount.  We don't want everyone to feel jealous so we'll have to leave out the most awesome top secret stuff :)

Amit donated blood on Tuesday.  Giving blood is great and it's a super thing to do.  Unfortunately giving blood took a little longer than expected because there were too many people there and he ended up being late to class.  Well, really he was late for catching a bus to his class which meant that he had to walk 1 mile to get to a bus he could actually take.  It turns out walking a mile after giving blood can make the rest of your day a little odd.  Go figure.

Durandal needed to go the vet again this week, but thankfully he is more or less better now.  He had some dental troubles but that got fixed, at least temporarily.

One day this past week, it was warm and sunny so Marinda went for a walk.  "I got to see flowers," she said.  "It was magical!"  In other Marinda-news, she filed her harp business taxes, went to the laundromat because the washer in our building was broken and you know, continued to fully support another human being in her uterus.  In case anyone's wondering, she's eating much better now and is starting to get more energy.

Marinda gave Amit a haircut yesterday.  This has happened a couple times before with varying degrees of not-being-awful-ness, but not since it got cold outside.  Don't worry, it's still cold outside.  She cut his hair in their bathtub, with Amit sitting on a stool.  It went...alright.   Not the most glamorous salon ever, but it worked!  Unfortunately for both of us we got a quite rude wake up call about the quality of Amit's haircut today.  We were sitting behind a lady today who was talking about her hair and how amazing it was.  Marinda asked "I cut my husband's hair yesterday - what do you think of it?"  The lady's face went from a smile to a scowl as she turned and looked at Amit's hair.  She did not approve.  Also, the lady was 4 years old.  Psyche!

Last night we went to a friend's house and learned to make sushi.  It was a lot of fun and now we are sushi-making amateurs.  Maybe next time you see us it will be in our own Japanese restaurant!  Watch out Yamamori's, you've got some new competition.

Action shot!  Look at the way she lays out
that cucumber!

Amit's grand creation!
