Luke's First GC!

It has been another beautiful week here in Seattle!  I don't want to jinks it, but we are LOVING the beautiful weather.  And with all the leaves changing color it is truly a fall treat.

Marinda decided to get ahead of the curve this year and put up cobwebs already!  She did a rather good job and has gotten more than one compliment on her job.
OOOoooooo!!!  Spooky!!!!
Luke has discovered his feet this week!  Marinda went into his nursery this week to check on him during a nap, and instead of sleeping he was just lying there quietly staring at his foot he stuck up in the air!  He hasn't lost his taste for his hands though, and still enjoys looking at them very seriously and then shoving them in his face.  I'm sure at some point he'll take interest in his toys again.

We have also as a family survived our first ward reorganization.  For those of you who don't know, we do not choose which congregation to go to, we are assigned geographically.  It was announced at the beginning of the summer that they were going to reorganize the boundaries, and we were all on pins and needles for the past few months.  Rumors flew around that went something like "well, this person told me who was told by the missionaries who were told by so-and-so who's husband is friends with the secretary of so-and-so who was at a meeting where they said THIS!"  So last Sunday was the big day, and the Seattle North Stake officially went from four wards to six with us living right on the border.  Our friends down the street literally missed being in our ward by 20 feet.  "You can see the dotted line running down the street, dividing the wards," an innocent by-stander was reported to have said.  It was a big change, but in a way it makes us feel pretty spiffy to have friends outside of our ward!

For more church news, this weekend was General Conference!  And a big announcement was made.  They announced that young men now have the option to leave on their missions if they have already graduated from high school as young as 18, and young women can now leave as young as 19.  This is huge and we are all very excited.  "I was really glad that they did some shots of the audience when the announcement was made," Marinda said, "some of those young men looked they had been punched in the gut and were now in shock!  To make the contrast even better, the young women were giggling to each other so excited!"
President Monson said we needed to start early in training our
young men for missions - so we're starting now!

Mommy might have had a hard time staying awake
for the afternoon sessions...
The rest of conference was great, with interesting talks on a wide range of topics.  And to make this weekend even better, during the men meeting (the women one was last weekend) Marinda and Luke grabbed some girls friends and went out to dinner.  Then afterwards we all went over to someone's house for games.

Hope you all had a good week!
Happy little boy!
On another playDATE with a cute girl!
