A Long Time Ago, In A Trunk Far Far Away....

Happy 4-month birthday Luke!  He had his 4 month appointment on his birthday (what a terrible way to celebrate, I know) and came in at a whopping 15 lbs 1 oz, right on the 50th percentile curve for weight.  He is about 25 1/2 inches, putting him at the 75th percentile.  Go Luke!  Good job growing!

(Side note - Amit thinks that the way the do the percentiles is horribly wrong.  While not technically inaccurate, it gives the impression that bigger is better.  When you're in the 90th percentile on your SAT, it means you're really smart, in effect, 'better' than 90% of the total test-taking population.  However, if you're the 90th percentile in weight, for example, it doesn't mean you're 'better' than 90% of all babies your age.  It just means you're big. If Amit were in charge of the universe, they would talk about standard deviations from the mean.  So Luke would be average weight, and a around 1 standard deviation from the mean on height.)

Anyways, this week was also the church Trunk or Treat.  For those of you not acquainted with this event, we have people parks their cars in the parking lot, and the kids go around trunk to trunk getting candy.  People are supposed to decorate their trunks and dress up, and it's generally a good soggy time (in Seattle, 'soggy' is a new slang term that means awesome).  We dressed up Luke as an Ewok, with us as Han Solo and Princess Leia. Marinda even made Luke an X-Wing to sit in!  (for those of you who want to argue that it's outrageous that an Ewok would be found in an X-Wing, it's worth pointing out that both Ewoks and X-Wings don't actually exist). Check out pictures below!  If you want to know how Marinda got her hair like that, you'll have to find the R2 unit she hid the plans on.

Not the best of shelters, but we managed to stay sort of dry!

Not bad for a little fuzz ball

Han shot first.  And he used this awesome 2D blaster too!

You're the best mommy ever!  Thank you for making me an X-Wing!
