This week we celebrated Marinda's birthday! Most of our celebrations were on Saturday (her birthday was actually on Sunday). We started our day by going to the Washington Park Arboretum and walking around and talking about what Marinda was going to do in her 26th year. Afterwards we went to lunch at Cedars, this Lebanese restaurant in the U District. "It filled the hole in my heart from leaving Falafel Cafe in Cleveland," Marinda said. Luke was busy charming the owner, who just loved him. She kept going off about how adorable he was and how he looked just like her son when he was younger.
Later that night we went out to a fancy schmancy Italian restaurant while our friends Danny and Julene watched Luke. Marinda was really looking forward to coming to Ciao Bella because last time we went the food was heavenly. "It was perfect! I got ravioli and creme brulee....mmmmmm," Marinda said. Amit also got a really good pesto pizza - so between the pizza and the ravioli we basically had grown up versions of kid food.
This morning Marinda got a surprising breakfast in bed. "We had tons of leftover hot dog buns," Amit said. "And you know what they say, when life gives you hot dog buns you make french toast!" Yup, french toast with hot dog buns. It tastes good, trust us! He also made her eggs and bacon, and a super-creative card.
Luke has been busy being adorable this week. He's been laughing a lot more, and getting closer to scooting! It was also a continuation of Luke's first Halloweek. On Monday we hung out with some people from our childbirth prep class. It's always fun seeing all the babies growing.

On Wednesday (Halloween), we had our own party because we don't usually get many trick-or-treaters. So instead we had people over to watch 'Hocus Pocus', drink cider and eat hot dogs (hence the leftover hot dog buns. This blog is like Memento, it will make more sense if you read it backwards.) For the record, Amit didn't like Hocus Pocus. "It was your typicaly 90's campy movie," he said while being snooty. "We should've just watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The one with Vanilla Ice." For the record, Amit was the only one who didn't like the movie, the rest of us loved it! I mean, it's a Halloween classic! It was a great time and we got more cute pictures of little babies all dressed up!
