Laugh Attack

Luke's new things is that he laughs a lot now.  Not all the time, but if he's feeling playful and you talk like a slobbering, droopy-cheeked dog he'll just laugh at every sound you make!  Exhibit A: this video.

In other Luke related news, he has given up his naps.  The world is just too interesting and he'll maybe take two half hour naps.  He'll sleep longer if put in the swing, but we just feel like we're cheating when we do that.  Needless to say, our life has become a lot more awake.

On Saturday Amit went k-razy.  The entire Fam started the day off by helping clean the church building starting at 8:30.  Marinda's only comment: "Why do boys' bathrooms smell so bad?  I actually felt bad for my poor little Luke that's going to have to go there someday."  Amit's response: "maybe if someone cleaned it it wouldn't smell so bad."

Anyways, after church cleaning Amit decided the apartment wasn't clean.  "Mold was growing near the sink, it had been two weeks since anything was vacuumed, and our kitchen counter was a complete mess.  On top of that the rest of the entire apartment was in shambles.  And being the superhero I am, I had to save us."  In unrelated news, Amit is auditioning to be the face of Mr. Clean in South America, the Middle East and South Asia.  He will be known to some as "Señor Clean" (with full mustache photoshopped in) and to others as "Cleanji."

Marinda and Luke went to institute this week.  Marinda actually walked about 2 miles to get there.  Not quite a pioneer crossing the plains story, but we'll take it! "It felt really good...at first," she said.  "Then I got tired.  That made the last 1.75 miles hard."
Luke all bundled up for the walk!  Armed and ready with his rattle!
During Amit's Saturday Spectaclean he took apart the bassinet.  Luke hadn't slept in it for over two months but it was still up.  "It was so sad," Marinda said.  "Amit totally cried, and then hugged Luke and told him to never grow up.  Because, you know, I would never do something like that."
Luke when we brought him home.
Luke this past week.  Look at that boy grow!
As politically active citizens we watched the VP debate Thursday night before our friends came over. As a 501(c)(3) educational institution we are tax exempt, so we don't feel it would be appropriate to endorse any candidate or position.  That being said, Amit may or not occasionally imitate Joe Biden's incredulous laughs now.  Speaking of politics, in Seattle we keep seeing these awful anti-Rob McKenna commercials.  We won't go into any details, but let's just say that there's "no way" we're anti-Rob McKenna because of the commercials, because each of the commercials is "not who he says he is."

Amit made an interesting comment.  So the first Sunday of the month is designated as Fast Sunday where members go without food or drink (including water) for two consecutive meals.  However, there are exceptions if you have health problems, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.  Fast Sunday was this week though because last week was General Conference  So Marinda was running a little behind and had to eat her lunch (burritos) in the car on their way to church - and Amit just randomly makes the observation that Stephanie Myer might have gotten her inspiration for all those "I can't help myself, I must feed" scenes in Twilight from Fast Sundays.  I guess Amit did not appreciate Marinda tempting him with food like that.
Wild Lion on the loose!  Or at least it was until Luke the Brave tackled it!

Soaring to new heights!

  1. You forgot to mention you had an awesome friend to chat with and distract you from the fatigue of exertion during the last 1.75 miles of you walk to the institute ;)
