Back to Seattle

We did a ton of stuff this week!  It's almost like we're actually cool and have a life.

On Monday we went to the Sanctuary Resort in Monterrey as sort of a babymoon.  It was so relaxing and gorgeous!  It was great being able to turn on the fireplace, lounge in bed with our books and the ipad, and just listen to the sound of the crashing waves.  We learned quickly that a day long getaway can be wonderful even if its just for one day.

Our room was one of two in this cottage, complete with a view
of the ocean and our own deck.
Marinda now knows what she wants their master
bedroom to look like some day... WITH the fireplace!
By the water at sunset. Who's that dark and mysterious figure?
We had to leave our car near the gate at the lobby,
but they gave us a golf cart!
Our breakfast came in a basket to our cottage door!
How cool is that?
FYI, this was a present from Marinda's parents, and they know how much Marinda loves hot chocolate, so they asked for 6 things of hot chocolate to be put in our room for us.
There may have only been two left...
 and Amit only had one...

This week was also Amit's 25th birthday.  Yes, he's a quarter of a century old.  "How does it feel?" Amit replied when asked 'how does it feel?', "I feel like a dinosaur.  Rawr!"  (that may or may not be a direct quote)  For his birthday the couple, who by the way, have a combined age of 50, went out to lunch at Agua Verde, a local mexican restaurant on the water front.  The food was good, the view was good, and there was no possibility of heavily mustached men in sombreros running up and singing the Mexican version of 'happy birthday.'  All in all, a good lunch.

For dessert Marinda insisted on the ridiculous idea of getting Amit something to eat that she could stick a candle in.  "It's tradition!" she said.  "Traditions are what get you through the day.  Especially when the rest of the day is comprised of you being pregnant and bedridden because you're so sick."  Amit's response to this tradition?  Just watch the video to find out.  (And did he eat the candle at the end!?!?!  What just happened?)

Saturday we went to the Seattle Central Library.  It was a super-exciting date.  No, seriously, it was!  The library is super cool.  It's practically a museum on the inside, and the outside shows you why its one of Seattle's architectural gems.

Looking down the million story drop to the atrium,
taken by Amit because Marinda was too scared to go
near the edge.
