Where did our kids go?

On Monday we went to the Pacific Science Center to see the model train show! The kids had a blast doing train stuff and running around and exploring. We got there when it opened, giving the kids a chance to look at a Knex ferris wheel. He was really excited to see it was made from Knex, just like his Knex at home!

Kids looking at the ferris wheel. Amit's the shadow on the left!

After we got in and watched the train in the entrance, we got to go on a train ride! It was obviously a short train ride, but the kids still had a blast!
Here's Jacy smiling...
...Luke smiling...

...and an amateur photoshop of both of them smiling!
After the train ride we hurried over (as much as you can with a 5 year old and a 2 year old) to get IMAX tickets for the train movie. Amit was worried it was going to be a 3d movie, but it turned out to be normal. This was the first time either Luke or Jacy had been in a movie theater, and they did great! The movie was about the building the transcontinental railroad in Canada. Luke really enjoyed it, and Jacy did fine. Jacy was apparently sleepy, since she kept lying down in her seat.
The kids didn't want to smile!

Lunch at the science center!

We spent some more time looking at model trains, but for the most part the kids just ran around having fun.

They had an oversized table and chair set

The other big event this week was the 2 day mega-sleepover at Liam and Darcy's house! Stephanie and Stephen were nice enough to take the kids for a couple days. One of the funnier stories from their sleepover was that Luke came down the first night and said "Stephanie, I'm sorry to say so, but I don't sleep at night." Where do kids learn to say things like this?!?!?

This was the first thing they did!

Meanwhile, the girls were a bit more docile

Jacy and Darcy's sleeping situation

Despite his insistence that he doesn't sleep at night, here is a picture of Luke sleeping

Jacy saying she's not tired right before falling asleep

Other fun stories:
•Luke had a dentist's appointment this week. He did great, and they were even able to get his x-rays this time! He has no cavities, and because he did so well Amit let him get a treat from Trader Joes before going back to school. He picked out some caramel chocolate and a bag of veggie sticks. Luke also got a toy from the dentist's - a little lobster you could put in water and watch grow. It grew pretty big, but unfortunately it grew so big it's arm fell off when Luke tried to play with it :(

•Like many small children, Luke doesn't like going to school every day. He says everything is too hard, including playing and eating and everything else.
•Marinda continues to try to eat and this week, and her theme for the first few days of this week was pizza. She was eating pizza quite a bit, and the kids started to notice. One day, Jacy saw her eating it and said "Mommy eating pizza. AGAIN!?!?!!"
•Jacy's been playing a lot with her baby and packing her backpack full of play snacks for her baby. She has also been looking for "baby's water bottle" (toy milk bottle) to feed the baby. You know, when Jacy was a baby we really didn't have to worry about him feeding her things she shouldn't eat. I have a feeling we might have to be a bit more vigilant with Jacy and the new baby...
