Luke gave a talk in church this week! We decided to let him pick whatever he wanted to talk about related to the topic "I feel my Savior's love when I try to be like Jesus." He decided to talk about prayer. His talk was short but sweet :) He read a scripture, talked about praying for the prophet, the sacrament and then bore his testimony.
Other than that, it was a pretty uneventful week. So enjoy the pictures and stories about the kids!

Luke stories:
•Luke is kind of obsessed with Star Wars. When we read a book, it's a Star Wars book. When he plays video games, it Lego Star Wars. When he builds with tinker toys, it's either droids, or Boba Fett's ship, or a podracer or something else Star Wars related. This week his big thing was the Sarlaac pit. He would put two blankets on the couch and pretend that was the Sarlaac pit. And every other question is "what is Jabba's sail barge like?" or "how can we make a REAL AT-AT walker?". Luke is convinced that we'll somehow mine ore from a mountain, make metal, and create a real-life imperial walker :P
•Continuing with the Star Wars theme, Luke was watching the Scripture Videos for Kids, and they were telling the story Elisha and how he had to hide because the wicked king and queen wanted to kill him, and Luke said "It's just like Yoda and Obi-Wan having to hide from Darth Vader!"
•Luke and Amit went on a "Daddy-Luke" date on Monday for FHE to Molly Moons. They did the normal stuff, like talk about Jabba's sail barge in the car, walk sideways on the sideways sidewalk bricks, and eat ice cream with absolutely NO toppings. And Luke emphatically would not even try another flavor besides chocolate. The thing that made this trip different is that there was another family there with a girl about the same age as Luke. Luke was actually very friendly to her and asked her if her ice cream was good, while the girl was acting more like a 4-year old. The girl even told Amit and Luke she was going to the park afterwards, but Amit replied and said no, they were going home. In the car on the way home, Amit asked Luke "did you make a friend at Molly Moon's?" Luke responded "yeah, but we should've gotten her phone number so we could have a play date." Marinda burst out laughing when she heard this. Amit said not to make it weird, but how could you not!? Luke is already getting girl's phone numbers!
•On Saturday, Luke and Amit practiced riding their bikes. Amit wanted Luke to have a nice big area to practice without cars and without a ton of people around. That basically meant a big parking lot that wasn't big used on Saturday that's close to our house. So they went to...Microsoft campus! It was more or less empty and Luke even got some good practice going on the road. Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures because Amit thought it would be best to not use his phone while riding his bike, but according to the GPS on Amit's fitbit/phone Luke biked over 1 mile and hit a top speed of 8mph! Go Luke!
•Later at the park, Luke rode his bike again. It's hard to believe he just got his training wheels off!
Jacy stories:
•We were planning out what to talk about for FHE so we asked Luke if he had any questions he wanted to talk about. He didn't, but Jacy did! She shouted "I have question!" When we asked her what her question was, she replied "ummm....spoon!" and held up her spoon for us to see.
•Jacy is officially on the big kid swings! When we went to the park she lasted about 30 seconds in the baby swing before asking to come out, but when she got on the big kid swing she happily sat for minutes! She didn't even need to get pushed very much (partially because she's so light the swing doesn't slow down very quickly). Whenever Amit asked if she wanted a push she would just say "no tanks push!" and "daddy swing?" while pointing to the other swing.

•Today Jacy was just so tired she laid down with mommy in the bed and fell asleep! This is the day after she fell asleep during scripture study, right in the middle of Luke practicing his talk for primary!
| Oh look, Marinda actually looks like a mom in this picture! And yes, this is one of the best pictures ever. |
Luke and Jacy stories
•Luke thought Jacy looked like a baby when she was all wrapped in her towel. So we asked Luke if he wanted to hold the baby!
•Luke and Jacy on the airplane at the park! Luke said he was going to back R2D2, which is why he's on the top. He couldn't decide if they were going to Dagobah or Hoth though.
•At one point at the park, Jacy and Luke were riding the swings next to each other!
