I Looked Out the NEW WINDOWS And Saw JACY'S PARTY!

We will begin this blog entry with the cutest video on the face of the planet of Jacy doing the hand motions to "Popcorn Popping."  It will increase your HP by 500 if your watch it.

We got new windows this week!  It's our first big project on our new house, and it was so worth it!  We replaced eight of our lovely, single-paned, aluminum, mold-creating frames with beautiful white, vinyl, double-paned windows with grids on the front of the house and framing along the inside.  Marinda can't stop giggling and loving them way more than she should to inanimate objects.

Isn't it beautiful?!?
And the worker took our counter that he had to cut off and turned it into a backsplash!
It was also nice because they finished just hours before Marinda's parents showed up!  So Marinda got to show off the new windows to them (and maybe use her Mom while she is here to help paint the trim....)  The kids were beyond excited, with Luke literally throwing himself into Grandpa's arms.  Jacy is super excited as well, though she keeps calling them Bapa.... :P

Grandma was going to take a picture of Luke with his Star Wars poster, and then Jacy came out of nowhere and said "cheese!"

We've done a few fun things while they are here (like go to the new Fred Mayer - woo!) but the kids really enjoied going to KidsQuest with them on Saturday.  It is really the best kid's museum ever and they had a blast dragging them around to all the fun things.

"Welcome to my evil scientist laboratory!!!"

Then that afternoon we had the reason for them coming to visit - Jacy's Birthday Party!  We know, her birthday was last month, but they weren't able to come up then so we had her big bash now!  And a bash it was...  Marinda invited everyone she knew, because, well, she likes throwing parties and we were just going to hang out at the park and it wasn't that big of a deal and was low key...  Yeah, we had 70 people RSVP!  Our Monkey Princess is that popular!  Anyways, it wasn't going to be a problem, except that the weather said that it was going to rain.  Marinda reserved the gym at the church, but then all day the weather was trying to give Marinda a heart attack by being sunny then rainy then sunny again...  We finally decided to do outside at the park, and with a coat it wasn't that bad!  It started to rain a little bit when we were doing the candle (of course!  You can't say you've had a birthday in Seattle unless it starts raining during it!) but otherwise it was exactly what we wanted.  Just chilling at the park while the kids played, the grown ups chatted, eating pizza and cupcakes.  Happy Birthday Princess!!!

That's more like Jacy's face!

Rawwr!

Jacy blowing out her candle with Grandpa! Though I think the wind did most of the work...

Family picture! The kids aren't smiling, but they're looking at the camera!

The funniest picture ever! Apparently Luke did something because Liam and Darcy are looking at him venomously

The great cupcakes Rachel made!

Luke Stories:
• Luke came into Grandma's room and informed her "I just said my prayers.  We have to talk to God every day."  And then they proceeded to have an in-depth discussion about how you can pray to God all the time and anywhere.
• In Primary today, the teacher asked if anyone had had a birthday that week.  Kids were raising their hands saying how it was their birthday or how it was their birthday two months ago and such, and Luke raised his hand.  Amit thought he was going to say "it was my little sister's birthday party yesterday!" but instead he said "Tomorrow it will be raining and lightening."  Thanks for the impromptu weather report!  :P
• Luke can READ!  We don't know how this happened.  Marinda has been going through this "teach your kid to read in 100 easy lessons", but they are only on lesson 17, and he's been struggling through the first three or so easy Bob books, but today he found the second collection of Bob books that Marinda's parents had brought up and told Marinda he wanted to read one.  Marinda said ok, and they opened it up, and Luke READ IT!  He sounded out words, and sight read some that he had already figured out on previous pages, and just flew through it!  AAHHHH!!!!!!!  Marinda is seriously hyperventilating right now.

Jacy Stories:
• Jacy said her FIRST SENTENCE!  We were dropping off Amit at work and she said quite clearly "Does Daddy have his coat?"
• Jacy and Grandma are having fun together every morning.  They have a new routine where they brush their teeth together, dab make-up on their cheeks, and fragrant lotion on their hands.  It's really cute.
• Dad has a fitbit type thing with a step goal, which he achieved on Saturday just by following Jacy around KidsQuest and the park during her birthday!
