Welcome back to Survivor: Baby Jacy! After the wonderful birth story last week, it's time to see which part of Marinda and Amit's life will get kicked off of the island. Will it be: A) sleep B) leisure time C) Amit's work D) a clean house or E) All of the above?
Stereotypical jokes aside, we're so glad to have Jacy here with us. We knew from Luke that they change so quickly in the first week but it's still amazing to watch it happen literally before your eyes. It's also so crazy to think that Marinda's due date is still days away, but yet Jacy's here, eating and growing like a champ.

This girl is going to be seriously beautiful when she grows up
This week hasn't been too bad, especially compared to our first week at home with Luke. First off, we're used to being sleep-deprived so that waking up every couple hours is only annoying, not life-destroying. And of course, since it's the second time around we know all the parent tricks and what not :) On top of that, Marinda is doing sooooo much better this time around with recovery. She still wanted to jump off a cliff when her milk came in, and her back/hips were hurting so bad that she needed to get a stronger pain med from the doctor, but like we said, she is more like someone who was hit by a bus this time around rather than a corpse found at the bottom of a lake - so progress!

Luke has finally started feeling better over the past couple days, but Amit got sick this week with the same thing Luke got! Thankfully Marinda and Jacy seem to be healthy, but it has still created a pretty psychedelic situation where pretty much everyone is out of it. And that's why we're so glad that Marinda's Mom and sister Jana are here!

Grandma!

Aunt Jana!
They were originally planning on coming up on Monday, taking a few days to drive up and getting here sometime around March 25th. Yeah... So much for that plan! Instead they sped up here and arrived a few hours after we got home from the hospital.
They've been a big help taking care of one out of it, very confused little boy, and keeping the house in decent shape while Marinda and Amit were in sleep deprivation land. Jana even cleared out all the blackberry brambles from the backyard!

Oh yeah, look at those hard workers!
Jacy also had her first check up this week on Monday. When she was born she was 6lb 15oz, when we were discharged she was around 6lb 10oz, and Monday morning she was 6lb 11oz! She is soooo tiny! Besides getting her stats, she also got a clean bill of health and declared to be perfect, but we could have told you that. :)
Monday was also a special day for Luke because we had his Big Brother party for Family Home Evening! Mom and Jana had brought up a few presents for him, and then got him a cake with "New Big Bro!" written on it. Yay Luke for becoming a big brother! He is actually being really great with her. We aren't forcing anything, but it seems like every day he is growing more and more interested in her, peeking into her cradle and even asked to hold her once!

SO EXCITED! And look at that cute cake!
|
Hooray for Luke!
We ended this week with Marinda's Dad flying in! It was soooo cute seeing him meet his little granddaughter for the first time!
So yeah - we're all still alive! And Jacy is soooo cute! Stay tuned for a massive amount of pictures!!!
