It was really fun to tell people that we were going out of town for two weddings - but only one couple. They'd look at us a little confused, we would smile at our victory, and then tell them that the couple was having a Christian ceremony and then a Hindu one a week later. Sound familiar?
Also, Anup has informed us that he really doesn't care what we write, and that we are not posting enough pictures and videos of Luke. Since we live to serve you, our avid readers (or in Anup's case non-readers) we are going to up the number of pictures we post.
This week was more of the same for Luke - learning to walk, trying on cute clothes (check out the hat Tina Nani got him!), making a mess and being adored by his relatives. Tina sadly left us on Monday, but Leena Nani came on Wednesday! This was her first time meeting Luke and we had fun watching them play together (for some reason I can't find any pictures of them together!)
According to Luke, all these new people were nice and everything, but they were nothing compared to Jejema coming home from India on Thursday! He just kept smiling at her and laughing after we picked her up from the airport. He smiled big when he saw Jejebapa too. Clearly our skyping has worked and he recognizes their faces!
On Friday we began our epic six hour trip with Amit's parents to wedding number two in Toronto, Canada. He actually did better than we thought he would - minus freaking out for 45 minutes before we stopped for dinner. At the rest stop, we left Luke alone with Jejema for FIVE MINUTES and what did she do? She bought him a monkey! Oh Grandmas...... :)
We stayed at Tina's apartment building. It was REALLY nice, with marble floors and a waterfall in the lobby. It also had guest suites (basically hotel rooms) that residents can reserve for their guests. Tina's apartment was really nice and Tina was the perfect hostess complete with Rainbow Chocolate Chip Cookies. Marinda also had fun annoying Amit showing off her HGTV knowledge to point out all the small room design tricks she recognized. "I knew all those hours of watching TV would pay off someday!"
Saturday was the big day (round 2) so we put on our Indian gear and headed out to the golf course Seema's wedding was at. Amit's mom had gotten Luke an outfit in India and he looked nice enough to be the groom. Amit and Marinda didn't look too bad either. For some reason all the girls had brought pink outfits, so we matched quite well.

| We're pretty convinced that Amit's dad loves Luke more than any other person on the planet. Is Amit jealous? Na - Amit's pretty crazy about Luke too, |

| We had trouble pulling Luke away for his naps, everyone just wanted to play with him! And he LOVED it. |
The wedding was beautiful and Seema was stunning. The priest did a great job explaining everything that was happening, and believe it or not it was shorter than the Byzantine Catholic wedding the week before. Then we went inside and danced, ate Indian food, drank Shirley Temples, and got to know our extended family. That is one of the really cool things about Amit's extended family - they could be super distant relatives but they know each other really well and are friends.
So funny story - we were out in the hall and Seema had just finished changing into her reception outfit. She came up to say hi to Luke, and what does he do? He smacks her across the face! She laughed and it was ok, but clearly we need to teach him better manners. We're speculating that since we've been telling him that he looked nice enough to be the groom that he got upset that the bride went off and married someone else! Don't worry Luke, we have plenty of little girls lined up for you.

The next day we went over to Seema's parent's house (Amit's Mom's Aunt and Uncle) and had a great time visiting with Seema, Charlie and Seema's brother Sid and his wife Kara. We've heard so much about each other from our respective mothers that it didn't really feel like we were strangers, but it was good to actually hang out with them a little and hopefully we'll head up to Vancouver where they live for a visit.
