Luke's Kindergarden Recital

It's hard to believe that our first year of kid's school (not preschool) is almost over! The next couple weeks we have a bunch of end of year type things, and we get our first taste of it this week with Luke's kindergarden concert! It was super cute and we couldn't be prouder Puma parents of our little boy. Although he's not very little anymore - he had to stand in the back because he's one of the tallest kindergardeners, even though he's also one of the youngest with his birthday being in June. So...should we be planning on a basketball scholarship to a Division 1 school or is going straight to the NBA?

In other things related to school, Luke got to do show and tell this week. They were allowed to submit pictures of anything, and Luke picked Marshmallow. Look how happy he is getting to talk with a giant picture of Marshmallow behind him! Luke also mentioned that he could pick 3 people who could ask questions about Marshmallow. Luke remembered that one person asked if Marshmallow was real, and that he didn't call on one of the boys because he thought they would ask a mean question.

Friday was also Puma Family Friday, so we got to eat breakfast with Luke at school and hang out in his class for a bit. Luke showed us how they're learning about science fiction in class and how he was drawing a picture of a laser eyes alien/robot. He's also been in a Wall-E phase this week, which might because of the science fiction stuff. We also got to check out some of Luke's artwork - look at this shark he made! No wonder he loves art class so much!

We're slowly and surely getting ready for Asher to arrive. Today we even put together his cradle! Look at the kids being big helpers! Luke really wanted to put the rocking control panel on and even helped screw in the screws. Jacy helped by throwing the garbage away and lending us her baby doll to test out the cradle.

Other stories:
•On Monday, we had FHE and our friend Zoe just happened to come over again. We went to Menchies and then came home for the actual FHE part and our activity was an Iditarod race. Amit had read the kids a story about Granite and the Iditarod the night before so they wanted to act out the race with their stuffed animals. So the kids did their race down the hallway, which end up turning into a footrace. Well, at least they seemed to have fun, or at least Luke had fun when he won and Zoe and Jacy seemed to be okay.

•Jacy has been singing the Darth Vader theme at random times this week. What makes this time even funnier is that she's singing it while holding flowers that she picked at Luke's bus stop. Funeral procession maybe?

•Luke finally started Karate...sort of. He had two trial classes this past week and after his last trial class this week we're going to pick which dojo he'll start at in the fall. He's super excited for Karate, and after his first trial lesson he was literally jumping around and punching the air all night long.
•Jacy decided to wear her princess skirt to dance class and it was adorable!
•Jacy's preschool teachers sent a picture of the class to commemorate the end of the year. Look how happy Jacy looks! She really loves her teachers and her friends at school.
•We saw the new Han Solo movie this week! Our neighbor/babysitter Noah saw it the weekend before and asked us if we had seen it. Marinda (half) jokingly replied "No, and you would know if we had because we don't see movies unless you babysit for us!"
