Friday night was the yearly registration party at the kids' gymnastics studio! The kids had an absolute blast. Luke literally didn't stop sprinting or jumping for half an hour straight. Jacy had fun showing Amit all the things she does every week.
Luke gave a talk in primary this week! His topic was the Word of Wisdom. He started by telling the story of how we got the word of wisdom, then he talked about things that are good for our body and things that are bad for our body. He actually knew almost all of it without needing help and also without memorizing it - he just knows the stories! It's almost like watching the LDS scripture videos every morning for the past 5 years is actually making a difference.
Luke and Jacy stories:
•Wednesday at gymnastics Luke overheard Marinda talking to the teachers about having a variety of donuts at the gymnastics party. Luke's response was "okay, so we can have chocolate. And chocolate with sprinkles." Apparently that's his version of variety!
•Thursday Jacy was really sad, and we asked her what was wrong she replied/cried "Luke touched my finger!" Even Luke thought it was hilarious because...well, how could you not laugh at that? Apparently Luke had hurt her accidentally on her finger earlier, but Jacy just got the timing a little off.
•Every night Amit asks the kids foe one happy thing and one sad thing from their days. For the past week, Jacy's happy thought has been "when I played with Luke" and usually is related to them playing at the bus stop while waiting for Luke's bus in the morning. One day, they played a game where Jacy was the puppy and they were playing fetch with an acorn. Jacy just thoughts this was so much fun and kept going "woof woof!"
•Apparently Jacy gets lots of compliments on her clothing, because she's learned that that's how you talk to other people. Almost every day she'll tell one of us "oh! I like your sandals!" or "Daddy, I like your shirt!"
•The cottonwood seeds were in the air this week. Jacy thought it looked like snow, and Luke at first thought they were cherry blossoms. It was kind of cool how they noticed it every time we went outside and were really interested in it. Amit even tried to explain why the seeds moved around in the air like they did but apparently the kids are not quite old enough for conversations on atmospheric dynamics.
•On Tuesday Marinda took Jacy to the park while Luke had his art lesson. Jacy got a scrape and was inconsolable so she had to be brought home. Amit was home, so he had Jacy watch a PJ masks episode. When she still wasn't feeling better, he played hide and seek with her. Jacy's version of hide and seek goes something like this:
-Amit counts to 10
-Jacy hides in a very obvious location. Like on Luke's bed, or on the floor in a room, or right where Amit is standing
-Amit pretends to look for Jacy for 10 seconds
-Jacy shouts "Daddy! I'm over here!"
-There was also one time where Jacy "hid" under a laundry basket. That was open on most of the side. Amit joked that Jacy was a turtle, not his daughter, which Jacy thought was funny. When Amit did it on his turn, Jacy said he was going into outer space.
•Luke's art is turning out really great! We're already seeing his skill improve and he really seems to be enjoying it. The next thing he's looking forward to doing is starting karate.
•The kids realized this week they could drop rocks down the slide of our playground. Our slide has held up so far, and no one's gotten hurt, so...yay for creativity?
Marinda is still going strong at 33 weeks! She and Asher are fine, though it seems like Asher is currently winning the kickboxing competition between the two of them.

| Amit was there to help Luke, but Luke probably would've been fine on his own |
| It almost looks like they're singing a duet and this is a choreographed moment when they're supposed to turn and look at each other while singing. |
