Happy Mother's Day! Today Marinda got pancakes and eggs and cereal (Luke poured the cereal) for breakfast in bed. Luke and Jacy had made some cards in school. For dinner, we did steaks and for dessert we had a Menchies ice cream cake! Amit and the kids had gone to order it during Marinda's Girl Scout meeting on Thursday, and he and Luke picked up the cake on Saturday during Jacy's gymnastics/dance class. Luke was convinced that he and Amit "tricked" Marinda by saying that they were going to Mox Boarding House to play a game (what they usually do) and that they need the car because Luke said his foot hurt. See how tricky he is now!
Other than that, it was a pretty normal week. So enjoy these stories about the kids!
•Marinda wanted to try out her Girl Scout activity on the kids, so she had them decorate some pots for the plants they ended up planting over the weekend!
•Luke has decided he doesn't like sandwiches for lunch anymore. So his ideal lunch is now an orange, gold fish, shredded cheddar cheese (yup), fruit snacks, and half a piece of bread. We are not thrilled, but he is actually eating his lunch now, so...yeah. When do we get our parent of the year awards?
•This week was teacher appreciation week (which is suspiciously the same week as Mother's Day). Luke made his teacher a nice card!
•Marinda took the kids shopping, and of course the kids needed to buy stuff. Luke got sandals, and matching ones for Asher. The kids also got matching PJs!
•Jacy's Bobo was apparently sick, and he needed help. Jacy played doctor and took care of him, and even brought him some medicine to help him feel better! Oh, and the necklace on her head is her crown.
•Now that the weather's better the kids have been enjoying the playset in the back a lot more. Jacy likes going on the swings (and nearly hitting her head on the ground) and Luke has found out that he can hang upside down on the trapeze swing. Fun times!
•Jacy is 3 now, and very emotional. If someone (often Luke or Amit) starts singing a song she doesn't Luke she'll shout at them to stop, and if someone tells a joke that she doesn't like, she'll again say "Stop that! Stop saying that! That's not funny!" There are often meltdowns over things like this. But don't worry - if Jacy is singing a song or playing on the piano, she'll stop and do her stage whisper "now you clap!" until we all clap for her.
•Luke's friend Zach told him about a Scorpion Sword that could destroy the universe. Luke believes it's real because Zach told him it's real. We hear very little from Luke about what goes on at school, but at least we're hearing the important parts...
