Amit's Birthday!

This weekend we celebrated Amit's birthday! We know what you're thinking: "Isn't his birthday in January?" And you're right! But January was when Marinda was really sick, so we didn't do too much. We got a cake, that Amit had to force Luke to buy with him, and that was it. So on Friday Luke apparently decided that we needed to celebrate Daddy's birthday. He made a sign that said happy birthday, and wrapped up some "presents" (cars from our toy bin) for him. That night, Marinda made dinner and did the dishes, and the next day Amit got breakfast in bed because the kids really wanted to do it. Luke cracked the eggs in the pan and the kids got his cereal ready. To cap it all off, Saturday night the two of us went and saw Infinity War, which is really, really good by the way!

Amit got to play Lego Star Wars with Luke on his night off!

Luke and Jacy stories:
•Jacy was excited to go on a Daddy-Jacy date (riding the bus to school). On the walk to the bus stop, Jacy wanted to stop and pick a dandelion and blow all the little seeds off one by one. When Amit said it was time to go, she got really sad. But then, the horse that we sometimes see on the farm near Northup made an appearance near the fence, and it just stood there looking at Jacy and Amit as they walked by. Jacy stopped crying because she was mesmerized by the horse.
•This was a couple weeks ago, but we forgot to include it in last week's blog. Luke and Jacy were playing...well, we don't really remember. Amit asked Luke what he was doing and he said "I'm doing <something>". Then Amit asked Jacy, and she responded, "I'm just following Luke." She definitely adores her big brother!
•Luke was sick all week, which was super sad. He had a fever every night until Thursday night, and ended up having a really bad cough. What was funny is that Jacy wanted to be sick too, because she wants to do everything Luke does. So she would start doing this really bad fake cough that made her sound like she'd been smoking a pack a day for the last decade, and then saying "I'm so sick!"
•Jacy has a rocket ship (an old cardboard box) that she has spent many days coloring in.
•Liam came over and the three kids did some water coloring! By the way, it's looking more and more like Jacy is left-handed.

•Jacy has been really upset that she can't go to the temple (maybe because we keep saying it's Jesus's house and she wants Jesus to play dolls with her?) so we told her we could do a family walk around the temple if she wanted. She did and we had a great time walking around the temple.
