So how did we spend our week? A SWIM CAMP! It's one hour, Monday through Thursday for two weeks, and Luke is loving it! There is only one other kid, so it is practically a private lesson. And has it been paying off? Well......
Luke can swim!!!!
We know we've said this before, but he can ligit, face in the water, arms and legs going, no one helping him swim! Not, like, the full length of the pool, more like ten feet because he doesn't know how to breathe yet, but it's AMAZING to watch! Marinda will try and get a video this week.
Our other adventure this week was a hike with Liam and Darcy! We almost walked a mile through one of those parks that do such a good job at tricking you that you're really in the mountains instead of a suburb. The kids did great for 2/3 of the hike, then they died, fought over the water like post-apocalyptic savages, and begged for food that didn't actually exist and not wanting the food that was, complete with Luke and Liam hiding behind trees and then jumping out to ambush us Star Wars style, and Jacy and Darcy helping each other put dirt all over each other.
So, pretty much an average playdate.
The crew forging for food!
(in their mom's purses....)
Look! We exist too!!!
I hear it's a great exfoliant
Jacy Stories:
• Jacy can count to twenty! Or at least say all the numbers in the order-ish. :P It's more like "11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 14, 16, 17, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20!"
Amit helping Jacy build some bookcases.
"Oka Daddy! This how you hama!"
• Jacy says the cutest things not exactly grammatically correct. Yes, as her parents it is our sworn duty to prepare her for life, including speaking correctly, but when she comes up to you and says "Please a helpa me?" or "Itsa GONE?!?" or "I Lahva You!" it is just so cute you kind of wish that she would just talk this way forever. Ok, it might be annoying if she still talked this way when she's a teenager, but in the moment you aren't thinking that far ahead!
Marinda finished decorating Jacy's room!
What every girl needs.... :P
Luke Stories:
• Luke is really into holidays (like he asked Marinda today for a day to day count down chart to Christmas - in July!), but sometimes he gets them a little mixed up. He was talking to Amit about how old he was, and told Amit he was 31. Amit corrected him, and Luke was confused, explaining that Father's Day happened. Apparently he thought Father's Day was, like, a second birthday for Amit - which it kind of is since he gets breakfast in bed and EVERYONE knows that you get that on your birthday.
Amit and Luke go for a bike ride together every Saturday,
and every week Luke wants to go to the same place - Microsoft!
Also, remember all those Star Wars lego kits that Luke got for his birthday? Well, they were built, and then played with, and then fell apart... and mixed in a big tub. So Amit, being the awesome dad he is, spent a good hour or two tonight trying to rebuild them. You know, for Luke.
For a last shout out, we wanted to tell Grandpa how much we love him and how awesome he is! He officially had his last day as a Seagate employee, and apparently from the emails he got from those who worked for him we're not the only ones who think he's the best. Ok, really I just thought this picture was so cute and wanted an excuse to put it up on the blog!
