Who's ready for a MASSIVE amount of pictures!?!?!?!?!
Monday we got into our car and was out the door by 6:10 am to being our yearly pilgrimage to Bear Lake. Amit had made french toast the night before for us to snack on, and we marked our trip by two hour chunks to switch drivers. The kids had vinyl sticker books and coloring books, and of course, the iPad! They watched Curios George a million times, and we made it in 14 hours and some change. That's pretty hard core!
For the next three days we spent time with just our family soaking it up on the beach, which was only about twenty yards away from our cabin! The weather was beautiful, the water as calm as a swimming pool. Luke got to float for fun in his life jacket for the first time, and Jacy was obsessed with hanging out on the dock. This was also Luke's FIRST YEAR SLEEPING IN THE LOFT!!! We also had a new surprise for us, Grandpa and Grandma had bought another sailboat! We claim it is his mid-life-I-just-quite-my-job new toy, but it was actually a good deal and in great shape and yeah... Maybe it was a little more of the first one. :P

You know those fancy filters you can apply to your picture.
Well we had a REAL filter to get this shot! A PLASTIC BAG! |

AH! Don't get me wet!
But seriously, check out how clear the water was! |

| Relaxing after a long day of fun in the sun |
We also discovered we had a minor celebrity for a neighbors!
Steve Nelson from the
Piano Guys was there! He and his family were really nice, and even brought over some amazing pulled pork that feed us for multiple meals. You guys should go watch the
Piano Guys, and buy their albums! Funny story, when he came over to introduce himself Amit was like "Like the
Piano Guys? Cool! We're really big fans," and Steve said jokingly "I'm just glad to still have a job!" While this was going on Marinda was thinking in her head "Of course I know who you are, I've literally spent HOURS staring at your face (the kids like them, we watch their YouTube channel a lot, not because Marinda is weird) - but don't say that! Don't be weird Marinda!!!, DON'T BE WEIRD!!!!!!!" and she managed to be cool and not super akward like usual! Go Marinda!
On Thursday and Friday the rest of the crew came up, and we had a fun weekend together eating, swimming, and of course our yearly game of Cranium! We also celebrated Hyrum and Mary's birthdays, and even took a day to go down to Salt Lake to visit Marinda's grandparents and see temple square, where Luke got his ice cream and Jacy got her scriptures (a hard back $4 Book of Mormon that she is obsessed with.) Over all, just a fun week!
 |
They took us out to lunch at their favoriet place, Rambling Roads (which was Aunt Heather's favorite too),
then we were walking down the stairs to leave when Marinda said
"Wait! We need to get a picture! Do you think you can make it back up the stairs grandpa?"
To which he replied "Not for a picture!"
But he did, and even smiled! It was a great visit and we miss you guys! |

| The kids found a hiding place at the restaurant |

Look! The kids found Jesus!
All kidding aside this really is a beautiful statue |
 |
Luke and the promised ice cream!
It's how we got him to smile for the grandparent picture |
 |
Mom said we could send this picture into the Ensign.
Seriously, she was obsessed with her scriptures
and would freak out whenever she misplaced them, which was every two seconds. |
 |
| The three girl cousins! |
 |
| Jacy and Elizabeth got along really well |
 |
| Look at these two! They totally don't look like they're up to something... |
 |
| Story time with Grandma! |
 |
| Chill'n and visiting |
 |
| Jacy becoming friends with D'artagnan! |
 |
Even though there was no wind, Grandpa took the kids out for a sailboat ride!
Luke even helped paddle!
We did get one family really great sail before we left. |
 |
| Luke and Jacy sleeping together on our bed. Yeah, not sure where we're supposed to sleep now... |
 |
| Aunt Ashleigh being AMAZING and doing craft time with the grandkids |
Luke Stories:
•While we were watching Uncle G working across the driveway in the lot, he suddenly yelled "I could use some man power!" Luke jumped up, grabbed his shoes and ran over, because that's the type of guy he is! :P Uncle G gave him little jobs to help, but at one point he asked him to shove a piece of wood under the trailer wheel or something. Luke just looked at him and said "You know I'm just a kid, right?"
•Luke is very educated, and this week he has revealed his source. The Musiume! Whenever he tells us anything he ends it by saying "I know this becaue I learned it at the musiume. I just got on the computer and learned all about it there!" No idea what musiume he's talking about, but it's pretty cool that he's learning it.
