School's out FOR-EVER!

There's the cute one we wanted for the blog!
We honestly have no idea what he's doing in this picture
This week was Luke's last week of preschool for the rest of his life! The week was full of activities, like his end of year performance and after-party, and a playdate with a bunch of his friends at the park after their last day of school. Luke's performance was pretty funny. On the way there, he was belting out 'Baby Beluga' at the top of his lungs, but once we got there, he was the kid not singing, turning around, and lying on the ground at times. But the important part is that he went up there, occasionally danced with the other kids and sang a few words. Funny side story - Luke and his friend Jack were on opposite sides of the group. When we asked his teacher about it, she said it was definitely intentional - having those two next to each other would have led to a world of trouble.

Luke dancing...sort of...
The best picture from the entire performance!
Sad Luke...

After the performance, there was a party in the classroom! All the kids had some juice and cake, along with super-cute pictures of them dressed up on a fishing trip by their spot. But of course when Jacy saw the chairs and the cake, she wanted some too. So she pulled up a chair next to Luke and decided she would be part of the class. Next year, Jacy, next year! Before we left we got a picture of Luke with his teacher and with Jack

Photobombed by an unhappy baby!
We didn't even have to ask them to smile! They're just so happy to be with each other!
"I'm totally part of the class. See? I have a backpack. It's not like you can just buy one of these"
Proof of Luke's improvement!
It's Jacy last day of Luke going to preschool too!
Luke stories:
•Luke has gotten really into drawing on his art easel this week. This seems to have started because of the Princess Sofia "Gizmo" episode, where Sofia helps one of the cooks with the machines she's made to help around the castle. At one point, Luke would pause the episode, draw the scene, play the episode for another minute, and draw the next scene. But his newfound artistic ability isn't limited to gizmos - he also drew a detailed scene of the battle of Hoth in black and white. It started out with some AT-AT walkers, but then Luke started adding in people in the AT-AT walkers, snowspeeders and all sorts of explosions. In the end, it was just a bunch of black marker, but it pretty cool watching him create the scene from scratch.

Beginning of the Princess Sofira episode where Sofia is picking blueberries while Clover steals them from Sofia.
Battle of Hoth
•Monday was Luke and Jacy's last day to play with Emma and James. Luke had school and lunch bunch in the morning but was able to play with Emma in the afternoon. While they were playing outside we got the best pre-engagement shots ever! They were climbing our Japanese Maple tree and the moment was just right. Who knows - maybe in a couple decades they'll come back and get real engagement pictures taken on this tree...but for now, Luke insists that he "isn't going to marry anyone! Ever!"
"Big smiles!"
"Now look at each other..."
"Now back at me. Perfect!"
•We want to Marymoor park for a bike ride (okay, Amit and Luke rode bikes while Marinda supervised Jacy moving 10 nanometers on her scooter). Luke did soooo much better than the last time we went this year. It's so great seeing how much he's improved! Pretty soon he and Amit will be like those cool people who bike around the lake for fun on weekends! And on the way back from the park, the cottonwood seeds for all over the place and it looked like it was snowing!
Snow falling on our way home from the park!

•Luke's been doing great at swim lessons! He's doing better at swimming on his own and has started learning the back stroke! Another funny thing about swim lessons is that they have suckers there. Luke gets just one after each lesson, but Jacy ends up eating like 3 each time just to keep her contained.

Guess who had a blue sucker after swim lessons!
Jacy stories:
•Jacy has always loved music, and now her love of music has expanded to the universal female love of a guy playing the guitar. She'll randomly come up to one of us and say "I want tar! I want tar!" It took us forever to figure out what she was saying! She likes it when Amit plays the guitar, but she especially likes it when she can play an instrument with him!

The only question is when should we start our first Misra Family Band world tour?

•Not to be outdone by Luke and Emma, Jacy and James had their own moments together. These seem less like engagement photos and more like "we've been married for 15 years and he STILL won't ask for directions photos but I love him anyways" photos.

•Fun pictures at the park!

Jacy wanted a turn but Luke was still spinning on the spinning thing at the park.
Solution? Jacy can sit on top of Luke!
