Hair bows and Pocket Birds

Jacy stories:
•Jacy put her face in the bath! We're thinking maybe she was trying to do what Luke does during swim lessons? Or maybe she's just a crazy little girl. Unfortunately, one time (the last time) she did it she got water in her eyes or nose or something and got really upset :(
•Jacy has been really...opinionated...when getting her teeth brushed lately. As of a couple weeks ago she was fun with getting her teeth brushed and even seemed to think it was fun! Now? She clamps down and doesn't let you move the toothbrush. And then she tries to grab it screams when you take it away from her. Oh toddlerhood...
•But, on a related note - after not letting Amit brush her teeth (at least not without a fight) she was playing with her toothbrush and tried to put it in Amit's mouth and move it back and forth! Perhaps we have a future dentist in our family?

•Jacy's hair is long enough to style! Marinda has been waiting for this for eons. Just look at how adorable she is!

Jacy's not sure how she feels about this.
•We have a board back called 'Good Night Seattle' and one of the pages has a gorilla on it. Just like Luke from a couple years ago, Jacy loves hearing Amit do the gorilla noise. She was laughing hysterically every time Amit did it, and when he stopped she would try to make the noise and point to the gorillas. The video isn't quite peak Jacy-adorableness, but it's at least passable.

Luke stories:
•When Amit left for work Luke was all sad and said he loved Daddy.  This was super cute, but when Marinda asked for more details, he said that now he loved Mommy!  When asked why he loved her, he said "because you turn on movies for me!"  She then asked why he loved Daddy and he said "Because he plays spin spin in the office chair!"  Yup, we're awesome parents!
•Luke was 'helping' Amit mow the lawn the other day. While Amit was mowing the front lawn (with Jacy looking on from the stroller) Luke was climbing up our 'Cousin It' tree in the front yard!
Luke climbs his first tree!
•Luke is getting really into singing. One his favorite songs is 'Fight Song' because he hears it on the radio and because there's a really good Piano Guys version of it. Sometimes he sings it normally, but more often than not he'll sing it with his own words like "and I've still Mac and Cheese left with me!"

•This morning Luke decided to make an ambulance out of his blocks. We didn't help him with this - he just decided to do it on his own. Check out the picture below!
The blocks in the middle are the inside of the ambulance, according to Luke.
•For some reason, guys spinning signs are super popular near where we live. The mattress store near us does it and so does that new apartment complex. Guess who loves seeing guys spin these signs? Luke does! So much so that he tried to do his own impersonation!

•This week we got invited to a playdate after preschool with some of the other moms at the park.  Marinda packed a lunch, and then left it on the picnic table to go watch Luke climb.  When the two of them came back, a raven was eating Luke's sandwich!!!  Luke actually had trouble processing this, he just froze and looked at the bird and Marinda thought he was going to attack it.  When asked if he was sad he shouted "NO!" when asked if he was mad he shouted "NO!"  when asked if he had a feeling that made him want to shout he shouted "NO!"  Then Marinda asked if she should make him a new sandwich when we got home and that seemed to snap him out of it and he said yes.  When asked how he felt then he said "happy..." while giving that bird a look of death.
•Continuing with the bird story, later in the week Luke said he didn't want to eat lunch at the park, you know, because of the bird.  Then this whole story came out about how he was going to catch the birds and put them in his pocket.  Why his pocket?  No idea, but he was adamant that as punishment for eating his sandwich he was going to catch them with one hand and put them in his pocket.  So watch out birds!  Luke's coming for you!
