Blackberries and Baptism!

Four Month Stats!!!!
Jacy's doctor's appointment went stellar, as usual, and once again was declared perfect.  We've had our share of extended illnesses, so this streak of "no news is good news" is suiting us just fine.  She even did pretty well while getting her shots!  She is 13.75 pounds (38%) and 25 inches long (75%), so she is long and skinny just like her brother, but with beautiful little fat rolls on her legs.

Oh yeah, I'm the best!

Marinda was sick this week. Not 'Marinda sick', but normal person sick. It all started after hot yoga on Monday. We're each fairly certain of what happened, but of course our opinions are different. Marinda thinks it was just dehydration and maybe catching a normal bug. Amit thinks it's because Marinda drank from the open water bottle that had been sitting in our hot car for an indefinite amount of time. We'll never know who's right, but the good news is after a day of lying in bed, being waited on by Amit (yay for having a job where he can work from home!) and sipping pedialyte and coke, she felt much better.

And Marinda's failure at a cute Mommy/kids picture....

On Friday Marinda got a text from some friends inviting her to go along Blackberry picking. Marinda managed to get a whole pail full and Luke was a huge help with, like, picking three of them before taking his pail and filling it with dirt instead.  Marinda was excited and made some delicious blackberry crumble.  Hopefully they can go picking again this week!

I'm going to eat ALL THE BLACKBERRIES!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last night we went to a baptism for a young adult. Amit was asked to play the piano, because that seems to be his thing in this ward - ward choir pianist, frequent primary pianist sub, and unofficial baptism pianist (we've had 3 since we moved in). Anyways, the baptism was great and beautiful and inspirational and all those other things that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.  That being said, the most impressive part of the evening was that Luke and Jacy were almost perfect for the first 55 minutes (Luke even whispered!). But of course, with 5 minutes left, Jacy started crying and a little bit later Luke started melting down, right in time for the closing song.  Marinda felt like quite the poster mom out in the foyer holding both crying kids in her arms, but once we introduced cookies to Luke he magically felt better.  Oh the power of sugar...

Luke Stories:
- Luke has been playing "mail truck" and has been shoving all the junk newspaper we get into his dump truck and driving it around the house.  In response to this new game, Amit said "See?  Who says you need to buy expensive toys?" to which Luke responded "I DO!"
- At the baptism yesterday, there was a table with lots of cookies on it in the back of the room.  When the baptism was over, Luke turned to Marinda and said "It's dangerous here.  We need to go over there."  Marinda said "You mean back where the cookies are?" and with a completely dead serious face he said "yes."
- We're not quite sure how much Luke is getting out of scripture study.  Marinda was sitting in the living room when Luke came over and started telling her about the bad people who were tied up with spider webs and how he was going to untie them and then they were going to hit people.  When Marinda asked what in the world he was talking about, he pointed to their Book of Mormon and said "Just like in the scriptures - the bad people hit other people."  But where in the world did he get the spider webs?!?
-On our living room bookshelf we have this little ornament of a baby boy with a teddy bear on his back. It's been there for months but Luke apparently just noticed it for the first time today. When he saw it he squealed "Look! It's Jacy riding on my back!" I know we call her Jacy Bear, but maybe he's taking it a bit too literally.

I'm so serious - this playground does exist.
Guess what we've nicknamed it?!?!
Luke doing some exercise... on these cool swings made just for your feet!
Jacy Update:
- SHE IS ROLLING OVER!!!  She's done it three or four times now, back to front, and even is managing to pull her arm out from underneath her now.  You Go Girl!
- Because of this new found mobility, her crib is now empty of all cute stuffed animals and blankets (they were always in the bottom half of the crib far away from her anyway).  Sorry Luke, no more "sharing her bunny" when we go wake her up in the morning.
- She loves to grab any and everything, then once she has it in her grip, she slowly brings it to her face (while going crosseyed) to then shove it in her mouth.  She's just a little lizard with how much that tongue is sticking out!
- She is also staring to giggle.  We can get her to laugh every now and then, but we can almost always get her giggle if we tickle her neck.  Sometimes it even sounds like she's trying to tell us something, though we're not sure what.

Feet UP!
Cute swim babies!
All tired out...
Being adorable is pretty exhausting!
Have a great week!

Amit had another mandatory play day for work (this time a picnic)
and they had a free caricature guy there!
Guess who these yahoos are!
