This was a great week - because this weekend was General Conference! For those of you who don't know, every six months the leaders of the LDS church hold a worldwide conference that is broadcasted live Saturday and Sunday. It is a total of 10 hours of listening to inspirational talks and sermons about every topic you could think of, and Marinda and Amit were very uplifted by the end of it. "I feel like I've been reset," Marinda commented when interviewed, "Like I've been so consumed lately by all the junk that is right in front of my face that I lost the perspective I needed." And the best part of this weekend? Luke's nap schedule matched PERFECTLY with the beginning of all the sessions - Oh yeah!
Marinda's Favoriet Talk
Amit's Favoriet Talk (Yup - both by the same speaker)
Marinda and Luke went to Baby Story time at the University Branch Library and two great discoveries were made. First, Baby Story time is AMAZING! It is great to have another adult acting like a crazy person trying to get your kid to smile. The second thing is the University Branch has a HUGE parking lot! It was amazing! The branch we've been going to is a headache and 3/4 to find a parking space. We're definitely going there in the future.
The most exciting story this week would have to be the adveture Marinda and Luke went on with their friends Ashley, Chelsea and Laila. Luke had a little bit of a fever from teething, so Marinda was planning on skipping playgroup. When Ashely heard about this, she invited Marinda to go to a beach with Laila (her baby) and Chelsea. It was a great idea - Marinda was really feeling like she needed some girl time. When they got there it was sprinkling a little bit, but they still got out the strollers to walk along the water. At first they stuck to the sidewalk - then SOMEONE suggested they take the strollers onto the sand. ... Yeah - it was wet, so it would be hard right? So try to picture this - three women, dragging their strollers through thick sand, dead crabs and seedweed, - and laughing their heads off. Oh, did I mention that it was actually raining at this point? We were AMAZING! It totally felt like Trek all over again. When we finally made it back to pavment (PAVMENT!!! *trek inside joke*) we totally felt like real Seattleliets. Yeah, we just took our babies for a walk along the beach in the rain - no biggy. :)
