Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

We came home early because Luke was sick. But the real nightmare was when we got sick, and Luke was healthy. Who will take care of the caretakers when they can't take care of themselves? And who watches Luke?

The answer: Batman. But he was busy, so the answer: no one.

When we got home we went to Children's Hospital and they said Luke was fine. Great news! Sort of. On Saturday night (2/23) Amit came down with some mystery illness. The next few days he was essentially couch-ridden and couldn't help with Luke or really anything. "It was awful," he said. "I was so sick I couldn't even play Assassin's Creed! I could barely watch TV. Where's the fun in being sick if you can't enjoy lounging around and staring at a screen for hours?" Marinda still had her 'cold' too. It's really much worse than a cold, hence the quotes. So we had a sick Marinda taking care of Luke and Amit. How did she do it? A cage, aka Luke's playpen.

LET ME OUT!
Jail Bird

Es-Cap-E!

We feel bad about putting our child in a cage because we were so sick, but he seemed to have a lot of fun. He learned to stand up on his own this week, and he got really good at crawling around. In fact, when we try putting him down for a nap or for bedtime he instantly rolls over and gets on his hands and knees and eventually stands up in his crib. Sigh. Hopefully it's just a stage. After all, Marinda stopped standing up on our bed a couple years ago. *cue eyeroll from Marinda*

Look at me!  I'm so cool! (note the clock on the wall)
We're both feeling a little better now so there's no need to worry. We still don't know what's wrong with Amit. At first they thought it was pneumonia because a well-meaning NP mis-read a chest X-ray. After that misdiagnosis they put him on antibiotics. A couple days later we went back in and the doctor said 'we don't know what's wrong with you, but you white blood cell count is high, meaning you have a bacterial infection, so here's another antibiotic'. It's been annoying but at least Amit is improving.

P.S. You may have noticed a...change...in the writing style with this post. Luke wrote it. He's learning Latin. He's very pretentious about it too...
