Our Policy on Child Labor

With Luke becoming so much more mobile  we are bracing ourselves for the crawling to start.  Some friends of ours recommended getting a SuperYard - and we began the search on craigslist to see if we could find one for cheap.  Well, we did!  And like all good craiglist deals we arranged a meet in a dark, abandoned parking structure on the outskirts of town (ok fine, it was the Fred Meyer up in Lynnwood) and exchanged our cash for the goods.  Ok Luke, we're ready for you now!

Incase you haven't heard, we at the Misra household promote child labor.  Well, as far as using Luke to earn money - and by money we mean $15.  (WOO!)  We've been participating in this hearing lab study where they put a tiny earbud in Luke's ear and test to see if he can hear certain frequencies and such.  It is completely safe.  He sits on Marinda's lap during the study, which is fine with Marinda.  She has to wear her own earphones so she doesn't influence Luke in anyway, so she has been brushing up on her Shinia Twain.  The funny part of all this is the student who was running the study at the end when we were talking to him saw that Luke was going for the earbud thing, SO HE GAVE IT TO HIM!!!  Luke promptly put it in his mouth, which was bad, and Marinda just kept thinking "What in the world!  You were just OBSERVING him for the past 30 minutes!  How did you not know he would stick EVERYTHING into his mouth?!?"  The student was still really great and competent, but it was still a pretty funny moment.

For walking group this week Marinda decided that she was tired of her friend Ashley not having her baby.  So she made Ashley do sprints!  Not surprisingly Ashley did better than Marinda, but it was still fun.  We at the Heb are just so excited to meet little Miss Laila!

We'll teach Luke better table manners before their first date, we promise!
