Luke made his first plane trip this week as we traveled to Cleveland for some weddings and to see Jejema and Jejebapa (Amit's parents - that's how you say Grandma and Grandpa in Oriya). We took a red-eye flight from Seattle to Cleveland (the only direct flight between the two cities). We were honestly a little worried. What if he didn't sleep? What if he cried and kept other people awake? What if the pilot somehow got distracted by how adorable he was and crashed the plane? All equally realistic concerns.
When we got on the flight everyone just gave us this look of combined fear and rage. A baby? On a red-eye flight? How inconsiderate! But Luke did great actually. He slept the entire flight. After we landed we felt like we had just won a gold medal. Everyone around us was congratulating us and telling us what a great job we did.

The majority of this week involved letting Luke get to know his Jejema and Jejebapa better. Jejema has spent the most time with Luke, talking to him, napping with him, giving him massages. They had a lot of fun. Jejebapa had fun with him too. Everyday when he came back from work he would come up to Luke right away and say "Hi Luke! Jejebapa's back!" It was sort of a weird contrast to the Terminator. Jejebapa vs Arnold Schwarzenegger and 'I'll be back' vs. 'I'm back.'

| "Jejebapa's back! Do you want to go for walk-walk?" is his favorite thing to say to Luke. |
Anyways, we also had a couple weddings to go to. The weddings were actually the initial reason behind this trip. On Thursday Luke's Uncle Steven was getting married to his now-Aunt Ashleigh. It was a small, simple church wedding with just close friends and family, but it was beautiful and we are SO happy to have Ashleigh in the family now!

On Friday we had Luke's official coming out party for the indian aunties. He got lots of good presents and was adored for a few hours before becoming exhausted from all the attention. Everyone kept saying what a good baby he was, he didn't cry once!
Last night (Saturday) we had another wedding. Marinda's best friend from college Jeanette got married to the man of her dreams at Holy Rosary church. While Marinda and Amit went to the wedding, Luke was having fun hanging out with his new Aunt Ashleigh. He was also a hit at the reception, showing both charm and grace on the dance floor. There was more than one young lady who was quite taken with him! Jeanntte's brother-in-law was also nice enough to hold Luke while Amit and Marinda danced some by themselves. Marinda was very happy to be dancing again, but only danced to a few songs since this was her first real physical activity since giving birth.

For Luke's great accomplishments this week, he started to grab stuff! And not just Marinda's hair and earrings, but he can hold things in his hands and wave them around! Amazing!
And because we all know you can't get enough of him, here are some more pictures of Luke...
