Happy Birthday Jacy!!!

Homemade cake, all ready to get smashed!
Jacy's 1! We had a party yesterday at a park nearby because the weather gods (lowercase 'g') decided to be merciful and save our house from a horde of up to 25 small children that would have about a 3 second windows in between opening up the ball bin in the family room, running over the living room, and destroying a very expensive harp.

Guess what world?!?
I'm ONE!!!
The party was a huge success. Marinda made a ton of food, including cupcakes that everyone raved about. Jacy had her cake, which she didn't quite know what to do with. She basically did the same thing Luke did when he turned 1: look at it, picked at it, said "What's this funny-looking cake doing here?", and then crawled through it and sat on it.

Jacy excitedly waiting for...she doesn't know what.

And.... smashed!

Now for the photo competition!
With who does Jacy look the happiest being held!?!?

We tried many, many times to get a good picture of Dadai with Jacy.
This is literally the closest we got to both of them smiling.

Jacy got lots of presents for her birthday, but her favorite was by far her new water bottle! She's been eyeing Luke's water bottle for months and has maybe (more like probably) stealing sips periodically, but now she has her very own!

Luke's favorite presents that Jacy got were 1) the giant pink bear from Dadai, and 2) the fishing bath toy. As soon as he saw the big pink bear he brought his own giant stuffed bears (also from Dadai) so that they could have a bear party. And for the fishing toy, he kept asking for a bath so that he could play with the new toy, even at the expense of dinner.

Earlier this week we went to the Tulip Festival. The daffodils are in bloom, though the tulips aren't quite there yet. But it was still pretty, and even though we didn't get our ice cream at Snow Goose produce, Luke still got a sundae at the restaurant for lunch.

This is the closest Jacy got to a smile for her photo shoot

One of the best parts of this weekend was having Amit's brother here playing with the kids.  He really is great with them and Luke was ecstatic counting down the days until he got here!

Jacy Stories:
•If you say "good job!" or "great job!" around Jacy she starts clapping!  She actually got really good at imitating whatever you were doing, which provided tons of dinner time entertainment!

•Jacy got a new carseat for her birthday! And she actually seems happy about sitting in this one as opposed to her old baby one.

"I love my car seat!"
•Jacy is a really good eater, and actually is pretty clean too. But sometimes she reminds us that she's still a baby. Like when we gave her black beans to eat. Her face kind of looks a little puppy dogs with how much color she got on it!

•We got the world's biggest strawberries from Fred Meyer this week. Just look at how big that is compared to Jacy's face!  She looked like an anime character!

•And of course, the GREATEST part of this weekend's achievements has to be JACY'S FIRST STEPS!!!!!!!!!

Luke stories:
•When we went to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival Luke loooooved playing in the mud. He loved it so much that he actually decided to get an in-your-face look at it. By slipping in the mud. We're not sure what was funnier, Luke falling in the mud, or him trying to clean himself off by wiping himself all over the grass.

"I walk this lonely road..."
•Luke absolutely loves doing puzzles. All week long he was doing his horse puzzle multiple times per day, but apparently that isn't challenging enough. So we gave him a 60 piece US map puzzle and he did it all by himself!
Luke is so happy his eyes are permanently shut now!
•Luke was a very big helper with making the cupcakes for Jacy's party. While marking them, he spontaneously said "Everyone at the party is going to ask 'who made these cupcakes?' And then I'll say, 'We did!'"

•This week was also St. Patrick's day, and we celebrated full out with Lucky Charms (which Luke loved) and Green eggs (which Luke refused to touch) for breakfast.  Then he made a leprechaun trap before school.  After school we checked it, but the leprechaun had gotten away!  He left some yummy rainbow pieces though and some weird looking leprechaun rocks.  They looked a little dirty, so Luke washed them off and found GOLD inside them!
I wonder if we caught one!
Hum... what are these strange rocks?
GOLD!!!!
Have a great week from Jacy the Princess!!!
