Luke's First Day of Preschool!

This week was a milestone in Marinda's life.  She has been preparing herself for this moment for years, but nothing can really get you ready for the emotional strain of preschool.  Oh wait, what?  This is actually LUKE'S milestone?  Alright fine.

Luke started preschool this week at Christian Highland Preschool.  He'll be attending two days a week for about two and a half hours, and did amazing!  While the other kids were freaking out and crying for their moms, Luke was totally professional and didn't even give Marinda a passing glance back.  Ok, maybe that was kind of hard for Marinda, but compared to the alternative we'll take it.  When we asked him at the end of the day what he did, all he could talk about was the yellow line they had to stand on before going out to play.  Recess is only, like, ten minutes at the end of the day, but we guess that's the most important part according to him.

"Hi teacher - I already know how to write. And I know how to do superscripts!"
Luke's so excited for preschool!

Marinda and Jacy got to have a nice relaxing morning as well, with Jacy napping and Marinda doing some top rate puttering around the house.  It's not all day like it was at Bright Horizons, but Marinda will take any break she can get!

Amit has been playing a new game with Luke and Jacy called 'chase-y Jacy'. The game is pretty complicated, so bear with us: Amit holds Jacy, and chases Luke while saying 'chase-y Jacy!' Luke loves it and Jacy has learned to love it over time. Luke has also started requesting 'scary-Jacy' which is the three of them playing in the dark with flashlights. It really doesn't have anything to do with Jacy but Luke likes playing with flashlights :)

Luke stories:
•We went to the Learning Store on Friday to buy some letters for Luke to play with. Amit met us there since it's only a couple blocks from his office, and we thought the kids would like the surprise. But Amit went to get Luke out of the car and Luke started bawling because he wanted mommy to get him out.
•Anyways, at the store we get some letters, stickers, and most exciting for Luke, a new puzzle! It's 24 pieces, so we thought it was the right difficulty level, but after working on it for an hour after getting home he had done it at least 3 times and had it perfected. Go Luke!

Chef Luke!
Jacy in a box!
Luke helping put Jacy's clothes away
"Nope, no robbers from up here!"
Jacy stories:
•Jacy is totally trying to get buff, but we're worried she's ignoring lower body and focusing too much on upper body. She'll lie on her tummy and do push ups into a great seal position, but those legs just flail around right now. You can't ignore leg day Jacy!
- Jacy has also become intuned with her inner lizard and is sticking out her tounge all the time!  It is stupid cute, but giz girl, stop licking everything!

"Parents, this book says you're doing it all wrong. Let me tell you what I need: more dresses. And shoes."
Jacy's not crazy about the paparazzi

Ever wonder what our kids do during church?
Well, Jacy gets fawned over by whoever is holding her...
And Luke plays with cars!  So it is pretty much like at home.
