This week was our annual pilgrimage to Bear Lake (Idaho part, not that weird part in Utah). As usual, we visited the sacred cabin for a week. Legend has it that those who don't make the trip will feel the wrath of a vengeful mother for the rest of the year. Those who do visit get...slightly less vengeful mother? (We love you mom, we really do. Part of the reason we love you is because we can tease you).
Luke had a wonderful time at Bear Lake. He spent at least a few hours everyday playing down on the beach. He mostly played with his excavator and dump truck, but he also played with other sand toys and even spent some time swimming in the water.
Quote of the week: Amit was getting onto the four-wheeler with Luke, when Luke turned to him and said, "I wake up, I get dressed, I drive on the four-wheeler, and I play in the sand, and that's my entire life!"
He also added into his prayers every night "please bless the tractor that is broken and the four-wheeler is broken." We can't get him to be consistent with anything else in his prayers, but that tractor is going to get blessed no matter what!
Luke also introduced everyone to "The Neverbeast", which Jana then analyzed as the government getting in the way of scientific research! Or maybe it's about not judging people before you get to know them. :P
Jacy was less thrilled with being at the beach. We took her out a few times but she didn't last very long and cried when we tried to put her feet in the water. Luke was the same way his first year, so we're sure that Jacy will have a blast next year.
But Jacy also never had to just lay on the ground by herself. We're guessing that about 98% of her waking hours were spent being held my her Aunt Ashleigh, which she LOVED.
Amit and Marinda also got to go on an AWESOME date this week! What did they do? They went to the Bear Cave, got some milkshakes and hung out in their car - WITH OUT KIDS!! Best date ever!
In conclusion, we love Bear Lake and we had a great time this week playing in the sun and hanging out with our family!
