Daddy's Home - ALL MONTH!!!

Hello World!  We would like to announce the amazing news that Amit is now on PATERNITY LEAVE!!!  (and there was much rejoicing).  Yes sir, Microsoft gives it's employees a wop'n four weeks of leave for procreating and Marinda and Amit decided to use it now, since we had so much amazing help those first few months.

Amit using his new found freedom to bond with his baby -
by dropping poof balls on her face!
(Sidenote: she loved this and kept laughing!)
The funny part of all this is that his first Monday home, Microsoft sent out an announcement: all employees with babies born after November will get THREE MONTHS of paternity leave!  We then experienced a classic "grass is greener on the other side" - but hopefully have calmed down a little.
Big kisses from Daddy!
So what did we do now that Amit was home with us all day?  We went to the zoo and the grocery store and the park!  And then, well.... Marinda got nerve disease sick....  and couldn't get out of bed.... for four days....  So yeah, it was awesome that Amit was able to be home and take care of everyone!  Woo whoo!  Hopefully we'll do something awesome and amazing next week!

Luke stories:
• Luke has been playing 'baby' a lot, meaning he puts one his stuffed animals in his shirt and pretends he's pregnant and that his baby is going to come out. We're not sure why, but Luke is taking his role as a pregnant lady very seriously - he even slept with Marshmallow in his PJ shirt a couple nights! Then he felt it was time, he'd say "the baby's coming out!" (sometimes with a 5 minute warning). One time he even set up a little bed for Marshmallow in our bedroom and went through a bedtime routine. He tucked him in, read him a story, sang him the goodnight song we sing to him everynight, and then gave him a kiss. When we asked him if his baby was sleeping he replied "sssh! You need to be quiet. Don't wake up my baby!"
Don't wake up my baby!

• Luke really likes the Snow Plow episode of Mighty Machines (it's on Netflix). And by really like, we mean that is the one thing he asks to watch. Anyways, after watching it one day, he started playing bobcats (small snow plows that clean the sidewalks) with some of his toys and a bunch of poof balls that were snow. He even had them stay in a warm garage before plowing the snow.
• Luke has been getting more and more interested in playing with Jacy. He's always bringing toys for her to play with, he actually wants to hold her now, and he likes enthusiastically pointing out when she's smiling, 'eating' her fingers, or rolling over. Sometimes he gets a little too excited though, like when he made a hugh pile of duplo lego blocks in front of Jacy and was shouting "Eat it up Jacy! Eat it up Jacy!"
• At the zoo on Tuesday a meerkat kept running back and forth right in front of the glass. Luke thought it was hilarious, especially when a second meerkat joined in. Then today, 5 days later, he exclaimed "I'm playing meerkats" and started running back and forth in the family room.

Luke bonding with his trucks, or, you know, his baby sister.
Jacy stories:
• Jacy somehow turns herself in her sleep - while fully swaddled. We always put her in her crib with her feet facing the door and half the time when she wakes up she's done a 180. The odd thing is that she never seems to turn herself by 90 or 270 degrees, it's like she's trying to flip in the opposite direction.
• Jacy is officially okay with rolling over! Before whenever she roller onto her tummy she'd cry as if it was a complete surprise that she was no longer on her back. But now she rolls over effortlessly without any fuss at all. Go Jacy!
Pretty Girl!
Family walk at the park!  Jacy loves it soooo much!
