Our house in infested with dragons. Every morning we wake up to Luke, our faithful watchman, calling the alarm that "there's a dragon! We need to hide!" and then we hide under the blankets. Sometimes the dragons come spontaneously during the day and we need to hide under blankets and pillows on the couch. So far not one soul of our company had been lost, so remember, when a dragon comes by be sure to hide under a blanket.

| Luke has a great smile, we promise! He just doesn't know how to do it on cue. |

On other less dramatic news Marinda's parents (or Grami and Grampi as Luke calls them) are back in town. And with them comes advertisements!

Bai Tong: This was our "parents are in town" restaurant of choice, and a good choice it was! It feels fancy, but they have high chairs and kids plastic dishes, but no kids menu or milk. We ordered some appetizers and main dishes (family style) and it was the best Thai food Marinda has ever had. Even Marinda's dad, who goes to Thailand regularly for business, said that he hadn't had better there. Be sure to save room for dessert and try one of their Bangkok sodas!

| This girl has some serious sass |
Snoqualmie Falls: This was a must this time around because Marinda's dad is such a fan of waterfalls and it is roaring this time of year! We walked along the rim trail a little where you get this dramatic view of the falls, then decided to take the trail down to the river. It was a beautiful hike and not too long milage wise, but we were happy to see that there was a parking lot at the bottom of the trail so Amit could run back up and get the car. That trail is STEEP, but so worth it in our book. Afterwards we went to Snoqualmie Brewery and Taproom where they make their own root beer and have delicious, cheese covered pizzas. We're definitely going back there again next time we go up to see the falls!

Forbidden Island: Marinda's parents like to travel with a few games, and they introduced this one to Marinda and Amit. It is an excited cooperative game where the players work together to collect four treasures before the island sinks to the bottom of the sea. It does get a little stressful towards the end each time, but we always managed to get off the island with the loot. And Marinda wants to put a plug in that she won Ticket to Ride with 146 points, a new personal best for her!
Luke Stories:
- Near Snoqualmie Falls there were a bunch of rusty, broken down steam engines on the side of the road surrounded by fences. Luke was obsessed with them, and insisted that he was going to get his hammer from home and fix them so we could then ride them.
- We were reading the
Tree of Life story in his Book of Mormon Stories. Luke asked what the fruit was, and we said it was very yummy. Then he asked what the people were doing, and we said that they wanted to eat the fruit too. He then looked up at us and said "I want everyone to eat the fruit too."
- Luke has this infurating habit of saying "Huh?" to EVERYTHING we say to him. It sounds more like when a goose says "honk" but without the "k". We're working on it...
Jacy Stories:
- This little girl has such a strong neck! She loves standing up and looking around, pushing with her legs like she wants to jump into the air. She also has the most intense stare, where she will look straight at you and reach out with her hands trying to pull your hair!
- She also has started sleeping through the night consistently, from about 9pm to 4am. So if Luke stays asleep, then Marinda and Amit get a good couple of hours of sleep in! Yay!
