After our long, long day yesterday, we were all sort of beat - including Luke who actually slept in until 7am! Luke sleeping in doesn't actually mean that he didn't wake up a ton again during the night... But Amit actually woke up before Luke did - that's how we rate if Luke has slept in or not.
We decided to try a new beach today, Kapalua Beach. It turned how to be a happy medium of the other two beaches, with a good amount of sand, not that many rocks, but it got deep soon enough for Amit and Marinda to actually go swimming. It was such a beautiful little cove, with clear water and stunning sights. Marinda even saw two whale spouts in the distance! But the most beautiful part of this beach was the light rain that fell the whole time we were there. And now you're asking yourselves "Wait! You liked the rain?" Yup, because in Hawaii the rain is warm and it gave us this amazing rainbow right over the beach!
Nap time today was cute because Luke got concerned when when he woke up and Marinda was still asleep. He was playing with his cars with daddy, when he paused, folded his arms, and announced to Amit that he was "Saying a little prayer for Mommy to be no sick!" Little did he know that right then Marinda was waking up anyways, so it was kind of perfect timing. Yup Luke, all prayers are answered that fast!
After naps, we decided it would be fun to take Luke swimming in one of the two pools our hotel had. We opted for the smaller one that only went to 4 feet, but with all of our complaining about how tall Luke is he still needed to be carried.
It was really fun! Some memories are of him playing on the stairs saying "SwimSwimSwim!" to himself over and over again. Another one is when we were holding him and he saw the mosaic of a sea turtle on the bottom of the pool and yelled "OH MY GOSH A SEA TURTLE!" And lastly, we found this ball for him to play with - well - he would throw it from the stairs and then command us to pick him up and "swim" over to get it. What was really funny about this was that when he would miss and the ball would float a little away he would get all concerned and yell "The ball escaped!" Where did he learn the word "escape"?!?!
To finish off this fun filled day, we went across the street for some shaved ice. Why? Because Marinda is an addict. Luke loved having his own shaved ice, and for the sake of actually enjoying the moment Marinda opted to not take any pictures. Don't worry, we'll have a cute shaved ice picture eventually. :P
