Amit's First Father's Day!

This was a very special day, it was Amit's first Father's Day!  It began like all other holidays for Amit with no breakfast in bed - because he thinks that it is too hard to balance - but this time there was a cute squishy baby!  Marinda celebrated the day by preparing a delicious salmon dinner complete with an attempt at an ice cream cake for dessert.  The salmon turned out great!  The cake... um...  it was a good first attempt!  Happy Father's Day to the best Dad in the world!
Yummy!
Behold the beauty of Marinda's creation!

Speaking of music, Luke has incredible rhythm. You may think we're just crazy first-time parents, but we seem him drumming along every day on beat. He's not perfect at it, but just watch the video. He's definitely not just making random noises. And earlier today at breakfast, he was humming a song and keeping perfect beat with his feet. "He's going to be the next Justin Bieber," Amit said. "We'll all be retired by the time I'm 40.
We had the missionaries over for dinner last week.  An interesting thing about the dinner is that when Marinda was shopping for ingredients, she saw that meat was on sale, and she found more than a pound of ground beef on sale for less than $2!  (Fyi that is way less than normal for Seattle.)  When she checked out, they told her there was a mistake, and that it should really be around $7 - but they gave it to her anyways! Clearly, the Lord wanted his servants to have protein.  During dinner, Elder Butt (yes that's his real name, and yes, it's pronounced like that) noticed we had a bunny and proceeded to tell the stories of how all his bunnies died growing up. Let's just say that the stories didn't quite invite the spirit for Marinda.  Luke decided this was unacceptable and planned out his revenge.  This week Luke has decided he really likes pretending he's a trombone player like his uncle Anup, and goes around pursing his lips and buzzing. When the missionaries were sharing a spiritual message from the scriptures after we had finished eating, and what does Luke do? Buzzzzzzzz. We'll work on reverence for next time, Elders.

and then sent it to Marinda with the caption
 "Look Mommy What I Found!"
Marinda and Amit had a heart attack this week.  One afternoon Amit had taken Luke outside while Marinda was cooking dinner.  The next thing Marinda knows, she hears Luke screaming and Amit is running into the house, his shirt covered in blood.  She feared the worst, but instead of freaking out her inner girl scout took over.  It turned out Luke had fallen from the play structure and had bitten his tongue which was now bleeding everywhere.  So what did Marinda do?  She took some paper towel and with a wail she shoved it in his mouth and held it there until he had stopped bleeding.  He ended up being fine after a bit, but man, that was pretty crazy.
