Last week began on a magical note with an AMAZING bouqet of flowers appearing on our kitchen table Monday morning. For those of you who don't know, Monday was our two year anniversary! Amit had spent all week telling Marinda that she didn't really need flowers this year - but it turned out just to be a ploy to get Marinda off the trail. That morning, Amit got up early to go "running", leaving Marinda to sleep in a little bit. The flowers came with a beautiful homemade card and coupons from Amit, which were reciporacted with a homemade card from Marinda with her own set of coupons for him. Some favorite coupons included "One Free Star Wars Trilogy Night!" and "One Free Ice Cream Date" - but the best one has to be Amit's gift of "One Free Full Attention Viewing of a Jane Austin Movie."
After breakfast we went off on our grand adventure (to commemerate starting the greatest adventure). Our destination? The lofty faraway peak of Mt. Eire! It actually wasn't that terribly far away, only about two hours, but it was still some place new we hadn't been before. We put Luke in the back, and then turned on our extremely limited playlist on our ipod and got going. It has been BEAUTIFUL in Seattle the past couple of weeks, and that day was no exception.
We had a pleasent lunch in Mount Vernon, and then made out way up the mountain to the top, got Luke out of the car and had our breaths taken away. The view was AMAZING! We could see everything. It was so worth it. We climbed on rocks and explored the area a bit, then headed back down south with a quick stop at Snow Goose Produce for some ice cream. :)
That night we dolled ourselves up, Julene came to watch Luke and Amit took Marinda out to a fancy resturant down the street. Over dinner we reconnected about our past, present and future, becoming one in purpose and mind. Such as becoming one over our shared goal of getting delicious steaks - oh, and other important stuff like where we saw ourselves in five years - but mostly the steaks. They were goooooooood. A perfect way to end a wonderful two years.
Fast forward to the main event of the week - people coming into town for Luke's baby blessing! Marinda's Mom and little sister Jana were the first to arrive on Thursday, followed closely by Amit's parents, Marinda's Dad, older sister Cara and her two kids John and Mary, and Ben on Friday. Fred flew in Sunday morning. Sadly, Steven and Ashleigh had to stay at home as Ashleigh just started a brand new job and we missed them terribly. We'll just have to photoshop them into all the pictures. :P
On Saturday we decided to do some sightseeing, and what could be more touristy then going to the Space Needle? Marinda actually loves going there and was happy for an excuse to go to the top. It was a cold morning, but it was a great time with everyone. We also got to go to the Chihuly glass exsibit, which is always amazing. After such a busy morning and afternoon, everyone went home to rest before dinner while Amit, Marinda and Luke attended a baptism where Luke gave a bouquet of flowers to the girl being baptised. (SUPER CUTE!)
Finally the big day arrived! Luke got all dressed up in his cute white suit, which was the same one his cousin John was blessed in. Then during church Luke was given his name and blessing by Amit, and it was beautiful. For those of you unfamilar with what a baby blessing is, it is a naming ceremony where the father and some men who have been ordained into the priesthood hold the baby in a circle, and then the father says a prayer officially naming the baby before God and giving him a blessing for his life. If that isn't great enough, after the blessing the Dad holds up the baby a little so everyone can see the baby and everyone in the congregation goes "AWWWWWWWWwwwwwwww!!!!"
After church we all went to the rental house Marinda's mom and dad got for some good fajitas! With all the left overs Marinda and Amit got, they wouldn't need to cook for the rest of the week.
Thank you everyone who came out to share this special day with us!

Happy Anniversary to you lovebirds! I'm so happy that you had a great time with your families in town. Thanks for including pictures of the blessing outfit! He's one dapper dude.
