Baby Luke vs. The Prince of Persia

This just in!  Daring adventurer Luke Misra has made an important discovery.  Some might say the biggest news of our time.  Luke Misra has discovered that he has arms!  AND LEGS!  Yes sir, those things that were flailing about for the longest time have been positivly identified as belonging to him.  This might sounds silly, but it has been a fun development to see this week.  He can use them now to reach for things - not fully in control, but there is a difference to the purposeless movements of the past two weeks.  His vision has also improved and he can look at Amit and Marinda from a realitive distance (like, 3 feet).  It is fun because he'll look at Marinda, then Amit, then Marinda, and just go back and forth.

Luke also had his two week check up!  And *drum roll* he is 9 lb 2 oz!  At his first appointment he was 7 lb 6oz - so no Marinda, it isn't just in your head that he seems heavier, he has gained nearly 2 lbs in the past two weeks!  Go little eater!

If Luke's weight gain and new motor skills weren't fun enough, Uncle Ben flew in to see Baby Luke!  He just came out for the weekend, but in that time we went to the Ballard Locks to see the Salmon Run, and he started (and beat!) Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands.  Sure he was up until 4 in the morning (Amit and Marinda did not stay up with him) but this was a little mini-vacation for him too.

And what could be better on a vacation than babysitting your nephew!  Yup, Amit and Marinda went on their first date as parents.  It was 45 minutes long and they went a wapping 10 minutes away to get ice cream at Tokyo Sweets in U-Village - but it was soooo nice to just be the two of them again.  "Was I worried and freaking out?  Not really.  Ben knew what he was doing - I actually was just fine." Marinda said when asked about leaving her baby.  When Amit was asked he responded"It was fun, I looked over at Marinda at one point and said 'we're suppose to be married, not dating.  We're having too much fun!'"

The Misra household has not completely been happiness and cute giggles this week.  Amit noticed a slight discoloration on Durandal's back Thursday night.  Upon examination, it turned out he had some how gotten fleas.  No idea how, but he got to go to the vet Friday and on Saturday we throughly cleaned him and his cage.  Thank you Ben for flying out to help us clean our bunny.  All the fleas should be dead by now, but we're still going to clean the carpets and bedding this week to be sure.
