This week has been a fairly normal week - Amit's class on Monday, Marinda's harp lessons, went to a dinosaur zoo, you know, the usual. The main events of this week centered around our linen closet, which is fitting because it was St. Patrick's Day yesterday. You all know the story - St. Patrick removed the junk from the linen closets in Ireland to make room in his apartment for his unborn son. So we celebrated this day by evicting snakes. Or something like that. I may be mixing up things a bit. Actually, I think St. Patrick was making room for his snake. Yeah, that sounds right.
Anyways, our first adventure was on Tuesday night. We came across two 12-packs of diet coke from Amit's coke days (caffeine is not necessary if you actually get sleep! why does everyone drink so much of it?) Only 5 had been drunken, and the cases were about two years old. Amit checked the expiration date, and apparently diet coke expires. Amit was debating whether to take it to his department to hand out to fellow grad. students, so he took a sip of it from one can, and...it tasted gross. And not just because it's Diet Coke. "It tasted like it was water with added artificial sugars that had broken down and reacted with aluminum in the can.," Amit said. "Yeah, it was gross. Kids, don't try this at home. In fact, stop drinking pop and go play outside. Harumph." In the end Amit dumped in down the sink in a very cathartic experience. Not only did he clear out junk from the linen closet, he was able to build a can tower!

This morning we had a funny experience while getting in the car to get to church. "I sat down in the car," Marinda's story starts. "And I could feel a lump-shaped thing under me. And then it moved!" She literally jumped out of the car in shock. "I thought I sat on a mouse or something," she said. It turns out it was just the knot on the strap of her bag. Not a mouse. "I'm glad it wasn't a mouse," Amit said. "Can you imagine the fiscal and temporal costs in cleaning that up?"
