Jacy had her two year appointment this week! After having it confirmed that she DOES in fact have a serious case of cute-itous (where you have toxic levels of cuteness in your system) she was declared perfectly healthy! Her stats are 24.47 pounds (20%) and a wopp'n 31.5 inches tall (82%)! When you look at her she doesn't look disporportionate, she just looks tall and gorgouse. :P
It rained for most of this week, but we took the kids out Saturday morning for some sun (they keep squinting!) and a bike ride. Well, Amit and Luke went off on their bikes, and Jacy rode hers for, like TWO minutes this time before saying she was all done. Progress!
We then spent the rest of the day at the Walsh's for Stephen's birthday party, hanging out in their gradge, watching them brew and eating lots of really good food.
Jacy Stories:
• Jacy now calls Luke "Lu-ku-boh" because we call him "Lu-ka-bouk" - it is one of the cutest things ever.
• Jacy is really into diapers right now. She loves throwing them around her room (they are now put up), and pulling out all the wipes (they too are up high), and giving all of her stuff animals diaper changes! When she can get a hold of the wipes, she will change it like a teenage boy changing his first diaper and use about twenty wipes for one little stuffed puppy, happily singing to herself "diaper change! diaper change!" The jury is still out about how we feel about this.
• Jacy LOVES to say "no." We know, this isn't a surprise for a two year old, but it has turned into a game where we just say silly things just to hear her say "no" and then laugh. Like "Jacy, do you have a brother named Luke?" and she'll say "no!" and "do you have a daddy named Daddy?" and she'll say "no!" We try and focus on this instead of the other times she screams at the top of her lungs for no real reason at all...
• Jacy loves books! She will sneak out of bed, grab a book and jump back into bed. She loves to look at the pictures, pointing out animals and other things she knows, shouting out their names and otherwise being super excited. The other day we found her lounging in a chair with her feet up, just enjoying a quite afternoon of reading.
Luke Stories:
• Marinda bought some food and things at the store for this group that was collecting donations right outside the door. She was feeling pretty good about herself, until she drove past the guy with the cardboard sign on the edge of the parking lot drive way. Usually, if it isn't too inconvenient, she'll role down her window and give them a dollar and a granola bar, but this time there were cars and such behind her... She didn't think that much of it until Luke called her out and asked why she didn't give the guy anything. Marinda tried to give some lame excuses, to which Luke replied "Mommy. Jesus wants us to help everyone."
• Luke got into the car after preschool this week and announced "I hate girls." Marinda had been expecting this to eventually happen, but he's still four! Marinda asked why, and he explained that they girls keep trying to catch him. Marinda asked why they wanted to catch him, but apparently neither he nor the girls knew... because they're FOUR! When Marinda asked if Luke hated his other friends who are girls like Clare or Emma or Cielo, Luke thought for a seconds, then amended his declaration with "Ok, I just hate girls as school."
• Luke and Amit had their first boy date this week! We've noticed that Luke's Dad time consists of breakfast and then dinner - both times not really open to just hanging out and bonding, so the two of them went to Molly Moons Monday night for some ice cream and boy talk. Apparently dinosaurs were a hot topic!
