Luke has given Amit and Marinda nicknames that aren't exactly the most flatering, but that he finds hillarious! Marinda he calls Salamie, and Amit he calls Saddy - so Happy Saddy Day!
Happy Father's Day Cute Boys!
This moring began with Amit getting an amazing gift, sleeping in! Every other morning he gets up with Luke and feeds him breakfast so Marinda can sleep a little longer, but not today! Marinda even made some delicious french toast to toast this awesome guy she's married to. Amit also got his presents - a card from Luke and a picture frame of him and Jacy to take to work that matches the one Marinda made him for Luke.
Amit was so happy, he even said that he was hoping
that Marinda would make one for Jacy so he could take it to work too.
Luke's picture frame for Daddy's office that Marinda made him for Christmas 2012
Luke also got a present for "Future Father's Day" - his very own lawn mower! He has been asking for one since Amit got his (it's Daddy's lawn mower, not Mommy's - Luke is very good at pointing these things out) and we thought it was appropriate for today. You know, mowing lawns... being manly.... :P
Luke is SOOOOOOoooooo Excited!
They finished off the day with Marinda attempting (and succeeding) to make ribs on the grill for the first time and a deeeeelicous ice cream cake!
We'd also like to do a shout out to our own Father's and let them know how much they have meant to us over the years. We love you guys!
Saturday the weather was perfect, so Amit spent all afternoon out in the yard while Marinda finished up the gallery wall she had been slowly pulling together for the last month. The yard is looking so much better and the living room no longer had a giant blank wall of doom. That night was really fun because their ward was having an "adult only" dinner, with free baby sitting, Italian cream sodas (which Marinda may have had one too many of) and a delicious soup dinner. Amit and Marinda got to know some of the other members of their ward and Amit even got to play a round of "Pandemic" - which we recommend for a fun game night. And even though it was technically "adults only," Jacy worked the room like a pro and got passed around to, like, five different people. Jacy for president! Everyone loves her!
Jacy turned three months on Friday! And what a beautiful little princess she is becoming! No stats because we don't go to the doctor at three months, but she is definitely growing. She likes to play now and will make smily faces at you all day if you let her. She is also an escape artist! She has figured out how to wiggle her way out of her swaddle-me, so nap time has gotten a bit more interesting.
And.... *drum roll please* JACY HAD HER FIRST LAUGH!!!! We happened to be video chatting with Amit's parents and Luke was just being so silly that she started laughing! And what a happy little laugh it is!!!
Look at that pretty girl!
And such a smart girl too!
Look at how hard she is concentrating!
"Yup! Beauty and brains! I'm going to take over the world some day!"
Luke setting up all his "babies" so they can all read the book!
