70% Free Spirited Mother Mentality
30% Neglectful "Meh, he's already dirty" Mother Mentality |
On Wednesday Marinda took Luke outside to play on the playground. Funny thing about kids is that you can put a great playground in front of them but all they'll want to do is play in the mud. So Luke got totally dirty, and his friends followed him in and got dirty too. We hope that someday he will use his powers of peer pressure for good!
On Friday we were getting ready for lunch and Amit was asking Luke what he wanted for lunch. He offered yogurt, cheese, peanut butter, all the regulars, but he kept shaking his head no. Then he said 'cawwy.' Confused, Amit kept offering things, but he kept saying 'cawwy.' Finally we figured out that he was saying 'curry', which he had had the night before. Neither of us remember saying curry to him, but apparently he's gotten to the point where he really is picking up things that we say to each other.

For those of you who don't follow science news, the UW press office put out a
press release on his paper and it got picked up by other websites, most notably as a
ScienceShot on Science Magazine's site. Some of the articles aren't so great. The Zee News one has a picture of someone getting abducted...yeah, not exactly what Amit's paper was about.

Lastly, Marinda has been binge-watching
Veronica Mars. She must have watched a million episodes in the past few days (if only, she thinks). Plus,
the movie is coming out on the 14th! And she has to get through all three seasons before then! Amit typically catches snippets or overhears the dialogue and the completely irrelevant theme song and is amazed at how crazily dramatic the entire show is. But now that he's seen parts of a few episodes and can see how addictive it can be.
