Luke seems to be trying to sound out words more and more every day. It's still hard to tell exactly what he's trying to say though. Some words we think he knows (like daddy, no, Jesus, attack, all done) but others, it all sounds like Klingon to us. No, seriously, sometimes he sounds like a warmongering alien from a science fiction show, and we're not even crazy Star Trek fans. Hint to J. J. Abrams for the next sci-fi film he'll do - you can get super-cheap ($3-5 million) alien languages by just recording Luke for a few days! We'll be expecting a call.

Luke learned a new 'trick' this week - he can now point to his nose when we ask him "where's your nose?" Also, when you ask him where his foot is while he's in his high chair he'll raise up his foot and wiggle it. He still doesn't seem to get eyes or ears or anything like that though. But we do note that he spends a lot of time pointing to his gums, his tongue and the back of his mouth.

On Thursday Marinda and Luke surprised daddy by picking him up at school. They spent time enjoying the sunny weather (a rare occurrence in October for us) and watching Luke climb up and down stairs and in general run around like a hyper little toddler. It was one of those perfect afternoons that feel like they should be in a book.

Saturday was the Fall Fiesta at the Laurel Community Center for family housing people. We took Luke and it was a blast! Luke got to ride on a pony and didn't even fall off once! Then he went in the bouncy castle with Daddy. He had some good bounces, and some a pretty hilarious wipe-out (don't worry, he wasn't hurt at all). To top it all off, Luke got a rare treat - pizza!

| Wow! What amazing camera work to catch him with his feet on the ground and not while he's flying through the air! (hint: turn on your sarcasm detector) |
